Maryam Azeem
Founder
Maryam Azeem graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology and a minor in Chemistry. She brings over eight years of healthcare experience in mental health, including roles in inpatient and outpatient settings as a psychiatric technician, practice manager, business development manager, and director of operations
A visionary leader committed to advancing reproductive justice, Maryam works to improve maternal health outcomes for Black, Latinx, and other underserved communities. Through Bebé Listo, she drives systemic change, builds strategic partnerships, and expands access to equitable perinatal care.
In addition, Maryam is the founder of M Marketing LLC, a healthcare marketing company that empowers providers to use social media as a tool to connect with patients, strengthen their practices, and close gaps in care.
Outside of her professional work, Maryam enjoys trying new foods, traveling, and staying active through fitness. She is a horror movie fanatic and loves to read.
Sara Iqbal
President
Sara labal is an undergraduate student at Virginia Commonwealth University pursuing a career as a Physician Assistant. She currently serves as the President of the Alpha Chapter at VCU and is also an active member of The Collective, a nonprofit social organization dedicated to empowerment and outreach. With extensive experience working with children, Sara has developed a deep understanding of the importance of early and equitable healthcare.
Her passion for community service and advocacy has inspired her interest in perinatal health, particularly among minority mothers. Through her role at Bebé Listo, she is committed to reducing disparies in maternal and infant care and promoting acessible, compassionate
Kiefer Cummings
Vice President
Kiefer Cummings is a student at Virginia Commonwealth University with a strong passion for public health and community engagement. With a background in leadership and volunteer work, Kiefer brings an organized and thoughtful approach to every project he undertakes.
He is especially interested in addressing healthcare inequities and supporting initiatives that empower underserved communities. As Vice President of Bebé Listo, Kiefer works closely with the executive team to strengthen outreach efforts, coordinate events, and promote the organization’s mission to improve perinatal outcomes among minority mothers.
Nyajay Mom

Jay is a dedicated Health Science major with a minor in Exercise Science, pursuing a career in Physical Therapy. She is deeply passionate about perinatal health and committed to addressing the disparities that disproportionately affect women of color. Her passion is driven by the understanding that informed, compassionate care is essential for positive maternal and infant outcomes. Recognizing that women of color often face barriers to having their symptoms and concerns taken seriously, she strives to promote equitable healthcare practices that prioritize education, advocacy, and early intervention. Through her academic background and future career as a Physical Therapist, she aims to empower families with the knowledge and support needed to improve both maternal and child well-being.
